Buddy3D ABS FR Natural 750g
What can you expect?
Buddy3D is a high-quality brand that goes through our strict quality control. The Buddy3D filaments are made in the EU and properly certified. All filament spools have perfect winding, beautiful colors, and 0.04 mm precision. We pick the colors and materials that are not covered by Prusament and that are hard to be found anywhere else.

About ABS FR
ABS FR (Flame Retardant) is a special version of classic ABS enriched with flame retardant additives. It is a very strong and tough material with excellent heat resistance. Thanks to its self-extinguishing properties, it is ideal for printing parts where there is a risk of ignition.
Main features
- Self-extinguishing properties: When exposed to flame, the material self-extinguishes after a short period of time and does not drip.
- High heat resistance: Better temperature stability compared to standard ABS.
- Mechanical toughness: Excellent impact resistance and tensile strength.
- Chemical resistance: Resistant to many acids, oils, and fats.
Why choose Buddy3D ABS FR?
Fire safety is a priority in the electrical engineering and automotive industries. Buddy3D ABS FR is the ideal choice for prototyping and manufacturing self-extinguishing parts. For projects requiring UL94 V0 certification, we offer Prusament PETG V0.
Typical applications:
- Covers for electronic devices and switchboards.
- Components for automotive and model making.
- Fuse and connector holders.
- Parts for 3D printers operating at higher temperatures.
Printing Setup
| Nozzle | 255 °C |
| Heatbed | 100 °C * |
| Recommended Steel Sheet | Satin |
* You can set the bed temperature between 80 to 110 °C depending the size of an object (larger object means higher temperature)

Beginners tips & tricks
Printing in enclosure
Thermal contraction is where ABS makes it really hard to successfully print something. And that’s especially true when printing anything larger. Even with the heatbed at 100 °C, your part may start lifting from the build plate and warp. We recommend addressing this issue by printing inside an enclosure with HEPA filtration (such as our Prusa Enclosure).
Acetone smoothing
ASA/ABS is a material soluble in acetone. This makes it really easy to not only connect multiple parts together, but also allows you to smooth prints with acetone vapors. You still have to be careful when handling acetone, but it’s not as dangerous as PLA solvents, for example. You can read more about chemical smoothing in this article.
Notes
1.75 mm filament is manufactured with precision of ± 0.04 mm
The material is not officially certified by UL, but its properties correspond to class V0*.
Before printing, make sure the surface of heatbed is clean as described in 3D Printing Handbook.
To dry the filament, please follow the instructions in our article. (we recommend 60 °C - 80 °C for 4-6 hours).
*The material was tested in an independent laboratory under the conditions of the vertical burning test according to the UL94 methodology (Vertical Burn Test). As part of this testing, it achieved parameters corresponding to class V0 - the flame goes out within 10 seconds after removing the source and there is no glowing dripping. A report with the measurement results is available.
