We were not satisfied with the quality of filaments on the market. So we decided to make our own! Prusa Research is the only 3D printer manufacturer with its own filament production.
Smart spool design to save material
We are constantly improving our filament spools. The latest iteration features a core from recycled cardboard and lightweight sides from recycled polycarbonate.
± 0.04 mm Manufacturing Guaranteed Precision
We believe the industry standard of 0.05 mm isn’t sufficient for perfect 3D printing. Instead, we guarantee ±0.04mm precision and highly-consistent colors in our filaments.
High Quality You Can Check Yourself
With every spool, you have the unique option to inspect its manufacturing parameters yourself. Scan a QR code on the spool to see all details online (check the sample spool).
Basic info
Our first wood-filled filament, the Prusament Woodfill Linden Light, is both visually attractive and easy to print. It really resembles wood in multiple aspects: it looks like wood, smells like wood, feels like wood, and may slightly sound like wood when knocked on. It can even be stained like regular wood to highlight the texture. The other great advantage of Prusament Woodfill Linden Light is its easy printability. Most filaments filled with wood powder (or other similar additive) need a 0.6 mm, or even bigger nozzle for best results. However, the Prusament Woodfill Linden Light can be easily printed with a standard brass 0.4 mm nozzle. Also, it doesn’t have to be dried before printing.
Similarly to our rPLA filaments using various waste products, the wood used in this filament comes from the wood manufacturing process waste. Last but not least, linden is the Czech national tree, and - as you surely all know - Prusa Research is a Czech company. Using the color of this wood is one of the many ways we show the world where we come from.
We do not guarantee a perfect winding for this type of filament.

Prusament Woodfill is made in-house by Prusa Research.
1.75 mm filament is manufactured with a precision of ±0.04 mm.
Before printing, make sure the surface of heatbed is clean as described in 3D Printing Handbook.
To dry the filament, please follow the instructions in our article.
