Extreme high‑temperature resistance

Probably the biggest advantage of PA11 Carbon Fiber is its high-temperature resistance, which can reach up to 190 °C, depending on the load. This makes it perfectly suitable for printing functional components, such as machine parts (motors, etc.).

Excellent chemical resistance to a range of solvents

PA11 has good resistance to bases (e.g. NaOH), alcohols (Methanol, Ethanol), toluene, acetone, motor oil, petrol, diesel, etc. This makes it usable in laboratories and, again, in automotive and other demanding industry fields.

Good friction and abrasion resistance

Prusament PA11 Carbon Fiber offers low friction and good abrasion resistance. Combined with decent mechanical properties (impact and tensile strength), it's perfectly suitable for printing gears and other moving parts.

Basic Attributes

  • Excellent temperature resistance (up to 190 °C)
  • Great chemical resistance
  • High impact and wear resistance (very strong and rigid material)
  • Low friction coeficient
  • Noticeably less hygroscopic compared to other polyamides
  • Visually appealing matt black surface
  • Great dimensional stability – possible to print large models without an enclosure
  • Uses recycled carbon fibers from the manufacturing process
  • A special print sheet (or separation layer) is required
  • Requires hardened nozzle
  • Lower layer-to-layer adhesion compared to pure PA11
  • Slightly hygroscopic (absorbs moisture)
  • Emits odors during printing (enclosure with active filtration recommended)
