This filament is not suitable for the Prusa MK, XL and MINI series printers as the temperature needed to print this material is not attainable. Please check the printing setup if your printer is capable of printing this material.
CarbonX™ PEKK+CF15 Ultra Polymer is made using PEKK-A [60/40 copolymer] and 15% high modulus chopped carbon fiber. This polymer is used in a wide variety of end-use applications where exceptional thermal, mechanical, and chemical resistance is required.
Basic Attributes
- Easier to print than CF PEEK
- Wide processing window from 360-390°C (ideal), up to 430°C if needed
- Tg of 160°C, HDT of 150°C, and a Tm of 305°C
- Inherently flame resistant base resin (UL94 V-0)
- Base resin with low smoke generation and outgassing
- Excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical resistances
Printing Setup
- Extruder: 360-390°C
- Bed Temp: 120-140°C
- Nozzle: Abrasion resistant nozzle with a minimum diameter of 0.4mm
- Other: Ideal layer height is 60% of nozzle diameter. We do not recommend printing layers smaller than 0.2mm with carbon fiber reinforced filaments
- Heated Chamber: Recommended
- Drying Instructions: 140°C for 4 hours once filament shows signs of moisture
