Miniature Painting for Beginners

The course is available only in English language.
We start with a quick overview of necessary tools and equipment, focusing on brushes, paints, and thinners. This is followed by an introduction to painting techniques such as drybrushing, washing, glazing, or edge highlighting.
In the second half of the course, you’ll find six sample projects where we demonstrate the techniques and tools described in the theory lessons on specific models. We prepared a mix of different print technologies (both SLA and FDM), sizes, visual styles, and levels of difficulty. In a detailed “step-by-step” format, we always describe the complete painting process from a fresh print to a finished model:
- Church ruins: a simple piece of FDM-printed wargaming terrain.
- Plague doctor: a one-piece SLA-printed miniature of a standard tabletop size (25mm base).
- Orc bust: a bit larger FDM-printed bust (about 12cm height).
- Ratfolk warband: batch painting of a small group of multi-part, SLA-printed miniatures, standard tabletop size (25mm bases).
- Dryad bust: another FDM-printed bust (about 10cm height), with a larger and more realistic face.
- Eyeballer: multi-part customizable SLA-printed "monster size" (60mm base) miniature.
Some of the models are exclusively made by our in-house designer, and some are provided by Vae Victis Miniatures.
We recommend using our Prusa Starter Paint Set, but all the projects are also doable with any other water-based acrylic hobby paints.
