ColorFabb Woodfill filament 600g

Is it for me?

Woodfill is on its base just a regular PLA. But the addition of recycled wood fibers (30%) allows for really interesting natural looks.

Please use corresponding print settings in PrusaSlicer as print parameters can be very different depending on the plastic base.

Woodfill is less abrasive than metal composites, but we suggest using a larger nozzle (0.5 mm and higher).

Printing Setup

Nozzle 210-230 °C
Heatbed 50-60 °C *

larger object means higher temperature

Basic Attributes

Easy to print

Needs larger nozzle

No warping

Prone to stringing

Great look after post-processing

This filament is produced by colorFabb.

Length of the filament: 250 m

We suggest to use larger nozzle (0.5 mm and higher) with this filament.

1.75 mm filament is manufactured with precision of +- 0.05 mm

We reserve the right to ship weights +/- 5% due to packaging variations.

Before printing, make sure the surface of heatbed is clean as described in 3D Printing Handbook

After adjusting the nozzle diameter and adjusting the temperature, it prints without problems, so far I am satisfied.

As they say ...size matters,I am using a .6mm nozzle and that makes a huge difference .4 is a no go.And with the new fuzzy skin, the lighter case I made looks and feels great.

Never used any type of woodfill filament before. However, it is not as easy as buy this, and print like normal PLA. You need to go a bit low on the temperature, increase the flow rate, minimize retractions and preferably use a nozzle larger than 0.4mm (never go smaller). It is very prone to clogging, it may slightly burn/leave marks and you should take out the filament from the extruder as soon as you are done printing. Do not let it sit. Also, do a cold pull from time to time or you will certainly get clogs. Some people also recommend a hardened nozzle. I used the Olsson Ruby so I don't know how fast a brass nozzle would wear out. As for the results, if you stick to the above, it looks great. No one believes me when I say I printed that fruit bowl for example. I would probably buy again but a lot of filament was wasted trying to find the correct settings. Smells good while printing though!
